Why Villa Puri Indah?

As there are literally hundreds of “villas” in southern Bali, why should you choose Villa Puri Indah over other 3 or 4 bedroom villas?

In the first place, VILLA is the most misused and abused word in Bali as it is used to describe almost anything that is not a hotel room.

Villa Puri Indah is a large, privately owned, stand alone villa, set in large gardens with a separate staff house for Suwito and Bon. It is not part of a “villa” complex which are not villas at all.

We are also not part of a rental group where staff in all the villas are recruited and trained in the same hotel-staff mould by the managing company. They will advertise “Butler service” and the like. We don’t have that as we believe our guests don’t want a Jeeves running around after them. They want to relax.

Many of these villas, as with the “villa” complexes have a shift-change at 3pm just like a hotel. We offer a family villa with the same people looking after you for the duration of your stay

Some villas offer a vehicle as part of the package which usually means they are a long way from anywhere. Some agents offer free cars too, but as they mark the price up $30.00 to $40.00 per day the”free” claim is a tad misleading.

Most people who come to Bali want to be close to a beach, but hardly any villas are anywhere near a beach, and of those that are, almost all are at places too dangerous to swim.

Villa Puri Indah is 100m from Legian Beach with direct beach access through the Maharta hotel.

This part of Legian beach is broad and close to a patrolled area.

Many privately owned villas are not well built or maintained and nor are they well run. Villa Puri Indah is and we have plenty of guest comments to back up this claim.

Villa Puri Indah was built as a family Holiday home when our children were in their teens, not as a “villa for rent” with the sterility that implies. Puri Indah has that comfortable, homely feel with staff trained by the owners in the relaxed manner of New Zealanders but the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Some villas seem attractively priced but at the end of your stay there are so many extras added to the nightly rate, such as shopping charges, mark-ups on ingredients bought for prepared meals etc. that they end up expensive.

Our rates reflect fair value for what we offer and there are no extras except toll calls (cost plus 20%) and very reasonable cooking charges, which actually go to the staff as a tip. Any rental cars, etc are charged at cost.
